Why Brava

A familiar electric baseboard for straightforward residential heating.

Stelpro describes Brava as its market-reference baseboard, recognizable by its rounded corners, quick installation and rugged one-piece casing. The range is designed for common residential spaces such as bedrooms and dining areas.

For Ontario projects, the first step is not simply choosing the highest wattage. Confirm the electrical supply, calculated heating load, available wall space, heater clearances and control requirements before selecting a model.

Made in Canada

Canadian-made Brava

Brava electric baseboard heaters are among Stelpro's Canadian-made products. For Ontario homeowners, contractors and property managers looking to support Canadian manufacturing, Brava offers a locally made option from an established electric-heating brand.

120 V or 240/208 V?

Match the heater to the electrical system — not the other way around.

120 V Brava

MarsLED's selected 120 V Brava range includes 500 W, 750 W and 1000 W models. These are useful when the project is designed around a 120 V baseboard-heating circuit.

  • B0501W — 500 W
  • B0751W — 750 W
  • B1001W — 1000 W

240/208 V Brava

The selected dual-voltage range covers larger outputs while also listing the corresponding 208 V wattage. B0752W, for example, is rated 750 W at 240 V and 560 W at 208 V.

  • 500 / 375 W
  • 750 / 560 W
  • 1000 / 750 W
  • 1500 / 1125 W
  • 2000 / 1500 W

Planning an additional residential unit?

Ontario provides a provincial baseline, but local requirements still matter.

Ontario's Planning Act protects certain additional-residential-unit permissions on urban residential land. In qualifying detached, semi-detached and rowhouse situations, the provincial framework can allow three residential units within the principal building, or up to two units in the principal building plus one residential unit in an ancillary building or structure.

That does not mean every Ontario property automatically qualifies for the same configuration. Local zoning, servicing, building permits, conservation or hazard constraints, parking and other property-specific requirements can still affect a project. Check the municipality and the project design before selecting heating equipment.

Choosing the right heater

A better replacement starts with the project requirements.

Before replacing an existing baseboard

  • Confirm the existing circuit voltage.
  • Confirm the breaker and circuit capacity.
  • Confirm the required heating load rather than matching wattage blindly.
  • Check available wall length and required clearances.
  • Confirm whether the installation uses a wall thermostat or compatible built-in control.

For renovations and new residential work

  • Coordinate heater selection with the electrical and heating design.
  • Use the correct voltage and conductor/circuit configuration.
  • Account for room use, exterior exposure and calculated heat loss.
  • For permitted suites or ARUs, coordinate with applicable building and municipal requirements.

Built-in controls

Complete a compatible Brava installation with a Stelpro thermostat.

MarsLED carries single-pole and double-pole built-in mechanical thermostat options for compatible Brava installations. Confirm the control type required for the electrical design before ordering.

MarsLED carries selected Stelpro Brava 120 V and 240/208 V models for Ontario residential, rental, renovation and contractor projects, subject to product availability.

Is Stelpro Brava made in Canada?

Yes. Stelpro lists the Brava B series among its Canadian-made baseboards.

What Brava wattages are available in MarsLED's Ontario selection?

The selected range includes 500 W, 750 W and 1000 W models at 120 V, plus 500 W, 750 W, 1000 W, 1500 W and 2000 W models at 240 V, with corresponding lower output at 208 V.

Is B0752W 750 W at both 240 V and 208 V?

No. B0752W is rated 750 W at 240 V and 560 W at 208 V.

Should I choose a 120 V or 240 V electric baseboard heater?

Choose the voltage that matches the project's electrical design. Do not substitute voltage based only on heater wattage or physical size.

Can I replace an old baseboard heater with one of the same wattage?

Not automatically. Confirm voltage, breaker and circuit capacity, calculated heating requirements, dimensions, clearances and control requirements before selecting a replacement.

Can Brava baseboards be used in rental properties?

They can be used where electric baseboard heating is appropriate for the property and installation. Landlords and contractors should also confirm applicable local heating, property-standards and electrical requirements.

Can electric baseboards be used in an Ontario ARU?

Potentially. Electric baseboard heat can be used where it is appropriate for the approved electrical and heating design. The ARU itself must also satisfy applicable provincial and local requirements.

Does Ontario automatically allow three residential units on every property?

No. Provincial law protects specified configurations on qualifying urban residential land, but local zoning, servicing, permits and site-specific constraints can still affect what is permitted.

Can a built-in thermostat be added to Brava?

Compatible Brava installations can use Stelpro built-in thermostat options such as SIBT1W and SIBT2W. Confirm the required control type for the installation.

Does MarsLED supply contractors and property managers?

Yes. The Brava range can support replacement, renovation, rental-maintenance and contractor projects, subject to product availability and project requirements.
